Lets face it, security systems can be complex and invariably issues can arise that need some assistance to remedy.  Have a look below to see if one of these questions relates to the problem you are having with your system.  If you don't find the solution, please call us on 09 921 5710 or email us.

My alarm unit is sounding when we turn it on

The LED light on the alarm box/splitter should flash green to indicate which sensor there is a problem with. The LED light on the sensor head will also go green.

In the SK103LE only:

  • If all the lights on a splitter go green, check that all the ports have shunt plugs in them.
  • Make sure that the end port is only used to connect to another splitter box.  If a sensor is placed in the end port the alarm will continue to sound.
  • Check that all the splitter units are connected to each other and to the alarm box.
  • If there is still a problem disconnect the splitter units from each other and test them individually with the alarm box to see which one is faulting.

My alarm unit beeps every 10 seconds

Check that your system is plugged into the power.  If it's not then you will need to connect it through the power adaptor that should have been sold with the alarm unit.  Once that is connected and powered on, if this is still occuring it is usually because there are no batteries inserted inside.

You will need turn off the mains power and then remove the cover by unscrewing the screws at the side of the unit.  Insert batteries (with either be 9volt in the LE Series, or AA in the T Series), replace and secure the cover.  Reinstate the mains power and turn the key to the on position.  This should remedy your beeping problem.

My alarm will not come on

Check that you are using the correct SLS 240/9v Regulated Power Adaptor and that the batteries have been correctly installed.  If there has been a recent power surge the power adaptor may need to be replaced.

The alarm is beeping every 20 seconds or so

There are multiple causes for this fault:

  • Check that the alarm is switched on, it will continue to beep if left switched off.  You will also not be able to remove the key if the alarm is switched off.
  • Change the batteries.  The alarm will start to beep if the battery power is running low.
  • Make sure the alarm box cover screw/s are in, if not the internal switch may not be connecting correctly.

The LED lights won't come on

Check that the AC power is switched on and working.  If the alarm unit is running on battery back-up the LED's will not come on as it will be conserving energy.

I can't get the key out of the lock

The key needs to be in the ON position.

I can't remove the alarm box cover

The key needs to be in the OFF position.

The external horn will not work

Check to see if the horn wires have been cut or tampered with.

The sensors will not stick down

If a sensor has come off or been removed you will need to clean the area with an alcohol wipe and apply a new adhesive everytime you re-apply it - this should ensure good adhesion.
