How do RF EAS Systems work?

In simple terms there is an invisible field between the two antenna. When a tag passes through the field, it reacts, changing the signal that makes up the field.  This is what causes the antenna to alarm.

In the RF System above, the antenna look for the dip in frequency that the tag causes.
